Statnett and other grid companies provides information on grid development and connection processes through national planning and digital tools.
Information on connection possibilities and grid capacity is currently made available through:
- Statnett’s grid development plans (“Områdeplaner: helhetlig og forutsigbar nettutvikling | Statnett”), describing expected capacity, constraints in different regions, as well as planned grid reinforcements
- Ongoing development of digital solutions, including the national digital portal for grid connections (Elbits - Tilko) and capacity-related information made available through collaboration with ElBits (company owned by DSOs and the TSO that makes digital solutions for DSOs/TSO and grid customers) and a map showing available capacity for each substation called WattApp.
- Collaboration with other distribution and transmission system operators, where coordination of information towards customers and alignment of methodologies and processes are key elements
The availability and level of detail of hosting capacity information is evolving, with ongoing improvements to ensure more transparent and accessible information for customers.
This development also includes strengthened cooperation with other grid companies on both connection process for our customers and system solutions.
Together with Elbits and other grid companies, Statnett will continue to develop and harmonise how hosting capacity information is presented as part of the overall connection process.
More detailed information from Statnett will be available soon.
