Hosting capacity assessment
| Capacity type considered for available hosting capacity information (e.g., Firm and/or Flexible) |
Firm |
| Description of what firm capacity means |
Firm capacity means fully available connection capacity under standard connection conditions. |
| Description of the aspects/methodology that leads to firm capacity results |
Firm capacity is determined through a technical assessment of the distribution network, taking into account voltage level, available transformer and line capacity, operational limits, system safety and reliability, and ZSD technical conditions. |
| Description of what flexible capacity means (if applicable) |
Flexible capacity/connection means that generation may be connected with temporarily limited output in selected substation areas where capacity reinforcement is planned. |
| Description of the aspects/methodology leading to flexible capacity results |
Flexible connection may be considered where the requested generation falls under a substation with planned capacity reinforcement. Until the reinforcement is completed, generation may be connected with limited output. |
| Description for the criteria and methodologies used that lead to the published information |
The published information provides an indicative assessment of available connection capacity in the ZSD distribution network. It shows whether free capacity is available for the relevant MV/LV area. Available capacity is confirmed only after assessment of a complete connection request. |
| Main assumptions/disclaimers behind calculations |
The map provides indicative information only. Available capacity is confirmed only after assessment of a complete connection request and may change due to network development, new connection requests or technical reassessment. |
| Additional information |
Flexible connection is not generally available everywhere; it applies only in selected substation areas with planned capacity reinforcement. |
Additional information for connection request and hosting capacity information
| Connection request procedure |
Connection requests are submitted electronically through the eZSD portal. Registration is required to access the portal. The capacity map can be used as indicative information before submitting the request, but available capacity is confirmed only after assessment of a complete connection request. |
| Available options for the investors if the map shows“no capacity available” in their interested area |
The investor may submit a connection request for individual assessment. If the request falls under a selected substation with planned reinforcement, flexible connection with temporarily limited output may be considered. |

| Additional information |
Connection process information is available on the ZSD website and eZSD portal. Information on allocated capacity for sources is published separately: https://www.ZSDs.sk/edso/domov/vyrobcovia-elektriny/pripojenie-zdroja/pridelovanie-kapacity |
