Geographical Coverage

DSO licensed territory

Spatial granularity

On a DSO level, the granularity is regionally based. For example, the selection guides the user to select a city or a village.

Voltage Level Coverage

DSOs are responsible to publish available capacity for MV grid (6, 10 and 20 kV)

Time Horizon (e.g. Y+1, Y+3 / 202x / snapshot)

The information for available/not available capacity is a snapshot. After depletion of the capacity based on nodal principle for the respective area, the information is updated.

Data Format (Table, Map, etc.)

DSO information leads the user to an urban area (e.g., village) and as a result of the user's “question” about free capacity, the user will get information in a “binary” format – available or not available capacity

Hosting capacity assessment

Description for the criteria and methodologies used that lead to the published information

NRA requires the grid operators, including the TSO to publish information about area based available capacity

Main assumptions/disclaimers behind calculations

The TSO has an emerging scheme of connection. If a capacity in a primary substation is exhausted for the single transformer, they are requested to put in operation second transformed which increase the available capacity. They have in the Network development program projects to replace the primary transformers.

Additional information

Additional information on flexible connection: Partial (not defined, but regulated as "temporary connection"). Equivalent through temporary schemes and capacity limitation.

Additional information for connection request and hosting capacity information

Connection request procedure

In any case, available or not available capacity, the connection request should be sent to the grid operator.

Available options for the investors if the map shows“no capacity available” in their interested area

Depending on the case, but in most cases the investor waits until the grid reinforcement. No flexible connections available.

Connection request rules/principles

First come, first served.

Information published for volumes of connection requests/waiting lines

Partly. Public register under Art. 28 of the Renewable energy Act. This page contains an electronic public register of submitted requests for connection of electricity generation facilities to the DSO network. To view the information under for a given procedure, the user needs to enter its 7-digit procedure number. The data is updated once a day and provides the status of the procedure.

Granularity of published connection requests/waiting lines (e.g., nodal, regional, per SO)

Regional

Additional information

There are additional functionalities according to the Renewable Act for each DSO to maintain a public register with the requested capacity.
